Collaborations for Climate Change Research
Rigging ocean energy platforms with smart sensing capabilities
The Marine Environment Sensing Network is collaborating with Bluenergy to bring ocean sensing and marine renewable energy solutions together!
With MESN's open architecture system and modular design, we are able to deploy sensor arrays on different platforms and in various locations. Our collaboration with Bluenergy has provided us an opportunity to share space on their offshore tidal energy platform currently being test-bedded off Raffles Lighthouse (Pulau Satumu). With this, we can now view real-time data from waters off Singapore's southernmost island!
Renewable energy and marine environmental data; these are the tools we need to help mitigate the impacts of climate change.
You can also preview data from Raffles Lighthouse on our home page now, until the end of May 2024, or log in to Ombak to explore more datasets. And if you have a potential test-bed idea, sensor or technology to be used on our MESN buoy or would like to collaborate with us feel free to contact us or visit here.
